SnapNames.com “Feb Deals” Auction Ends Thursday & So Far Only 1 Bid

TheDomains

SnapNames.com is running a “February Deals” auction of 65 domain names all at “no reserve”.

So far not many are taking advantage of the “deals”

As of time of publication there is only 1 bid in the auction, that on the domain name healthmyths.com which has a bid at $199.

Although the auction says all the domain are at “no reserve” when you go to place a bid the minimum 1st bid is $199 which of course is not a true, no reserve auction.

But I digress.

The auction ends tomorrow on February 21, 2013 at 3:145PM EST with the normal closing procedures for Snapnames.com

I’m not sure how these domain were selected personally don’t see too many “Deals” here myself.

I report the news whether it be positive or negative it is what it is

Opinion pieces are pretty self identifying

Just because I report positive news or negative news does not mean my personal feeling are involved

Acting President & CTO Of Mike Mann’s DomainMarket Resigns

TheDomains

According to his Facebook Page the Acting President and CTO of Mike Mann’s DomainMarket.com, Chad Bennett has resigned.

Chad Bennett wrote on his Facebook page today:

After a little more than 10 months as acting President and CTO of DomainMarket, I officially resigned last Friday.

In the short time I was there we doubled e-commerce revenues and traffic to the website, increased monthly revenues by over 160%, lowered our expenses by tens of thousands a month and had created a completely new internal system to manage DomainMarket’s portfolio of over 335,000 domains.

I will be dedicating 100% of my time to the IT Outsourcing company I founded in 2011 which now has over 70 full-time employees with three offices in the U.S. and the Philippines.

Mr. Bennett’s IP Outsourcing company is Lancera.com.

I meet Chad at TRAFFIC last year and found him to be a very smart and personable guy and we at TheDomains.com wish him the best as he returns to Lancera.com.

After 75K In Lost Domains, Igal In Death Teaches Us We Need An After Life Plan

2013 February 22 onlinedomain.com permalink

This is scary. There domains are all registered at Moniker.
Can’t someone contact Igal’s family and/or Moniker?

I have actually been thinking about this since my daughter was born.
I want her to be financially secured if anything happens to me…

Who Would Have Thought .Biz Domains Will Cost More Than .Com

2013 February 22 Jeff Schneider permalink

Hello MHB,

My read on this is the surviving established extensions are placing bets on a total gTLD Folly unraveling. Therefore creating more demand for surviving Trusted Brand extensions. PERHAPS ?

Gratefully, Jeff Schneider (Contact Group) (Metal Tiger)

Disney Loses UDRP On 3 Domains Related To The Broadway Musical Aladdin

ALADDIN’S’ is sufficient to show that the Alladin disputed domain names are confusingly similar to the sole trademark”.

“In the Panel’s view, they are not because of the generic quality of the word Aladdin and the added words of the registered mark which seem to be directed towards a production bearing the rather lengthy name, ALADDIN’S MAGIC CARPET RIDE.  The fact that there are many other trademarks not owned by the Complainant incorporating the word
